Samira Aliyeva, an esteemed Azerbaijani cultural academic and educator, has been an influential figure in the art of Ashugs—a traditional Azerbaijani storytelling art form. Born on September 29, 1981, in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she continues to reside, Aliyeva embarked on her academic journey at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. She has progressed through various academic positions since 2004, currently serving as an associate professor in the Department of "Art of Ashugs" since 2017. Aliyeva completed her PhD in art history in 2013, focusing on "Theatricality in the art of the Ashugs and its forms of manifestation," and was honored as a "Honored Worker of Culture" in 2014.

Aliyeva's educational journey began with a bachelor’s degree in Directing Mass Events, followed by a master's in Cultural Studies, both from the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts.
