Le Thi Minh Ly’s education started with a BA in museology and history from Hanoi General University, later continuing with a degree in state culture management. Later, she earned a second BA in political ideology, this time from the Ho Chi Minh National Institute of Politics, before earning a PhD in cultural management from the Institute of Culture and Information, Ministry of Culture and Information of Vietnam. She is presently serving as the vice chairperson of the Vietnam Association for Cultural Heritage, a member of the National Council for Cultural Heritage, and an executive committee member of the Vietnam Association for Cultural Heritage, serving since 2020, 2010, and 2005, respectively. Being a senior specialist with many years working in the intangible cultural heritage field and museum studies especially in building policies and providing training on safeguarding intangible cultural heritage in Vietnam, she has participated in various intangible cultural heritage activities, including participating in preparing drafts for the Amendment Law on Cultural Heritage, nominating several files to the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage lists, and delivering lectures on intangible cultural heritage and museum studies.
