Dr. V. Jayarajan is the Founder and Chairman of Folkland, International Centre for Folklore and Culture based in Kerala (https://folkland.org/) and is currently serving as the Secretary-General of ICCN. He grew up in Kerala, India. After completing a bachelor's degree in economics and law from University of Kerala, he completed his post-graduation degree in sociology and folklore. Later, he earned a PhD in social anthropology from the University of Mysore in Karnataka. He has several years of experience in teaching and research. He had worked as the Vice President of the Indian Folklore Congress. He has travelled to several countries to deliver lectures on folklore and culture. He is also a visiting faculty of several universities. In addition, he also serves as the convener of Indian National Trust for Art Cultural Heritage, Kasaragod Chapter. He has received several recognitions and honors including Junior and Senior Fellowships from the Ministry of Culture and William Evans Visiting Lecture’s Fellowship from Otago University, New Zealand. He has also several published works to his credit. He was honored by IGRMS Bhopal with a certificate of appreciation in 2016. Dr. Jayarajan was on the expert committee of the Ministry of Culture and Sangeet Natak Akademy.
